The Color-coded training system is a series of training classes which trains your volunteers and staff to properly label every dog into 4 district colors.
Once dogs are properly labeled, Rock Kennel Training helps your shelter create a self sustaining volunteer/staff training program where every dog handler is properly trained and has the tools for handing each color of dog.
Blue dog training- How to properly use training equipment and starting tools, perform a kennel routine, stop unwanted jumping and mouthing, teach door manners, proper use of a tug toy/flirt pole, leash biting, leash reactivity, etc.
Yellow dog training- How to properly leash and walk nervous dogs in the back of the kennel, exercises to gain the trust of dogs who shut down on leash, understanding the importance of non verbal body language communication, techniques for taking leash off of nervous bite risk dogs, etc.
Trudy- former "blue dog" with mouthing behaviors so excessive she broke skin on multiple accounts but is now happily adopted with new skills of self control.
Mona- former "yellow dog" who waited over a year to be adopted due to her extreme fear of strangers of any kind. Thanks to the power of playgroups and the color coded training classes, she was able to gain more confidence and is now happliy adopted in a home with 2 pup brother!
